This is a common question.
“So my child will learn to sit on a horse. Why is it worth the investment?”
The answer is long, complex, and I will surely miss a few points that I’d like to make. That being said… Let’s start here.
By working alongside horses, your student will develop a great many things!
-Empathy
-Teamwork
-Resiliency
-Hard Work
-Persistence
-Patience
-Critical Thinking
-Creative Problem-Solving
-Good Sportsmanship
-Positive Mindset
-The Thrill of accomplishment!
-The Bitterness of Defeat
-Building and Retaining Muscle
Working with horses will challenge your student in a great many ways as horses all have unique personalities and often bring about some of the challenges that you face with people throughout life. The difference is that they’re more forgiving and won’t tell the rest of the herd what you might have done to embarrass yourself or make them mad! Even if you have a bad day, you can always come out the following day and have a brand new conversation with your partner. To me, the lessons that you learn working with horses are some of the important ones that you can carry with you throughout life.
